Dudelsack pfeifen wird auch in diesem Jahr zu einem weltumspannenden Ereignis. Bei den diesjährigen World Pipe Band Championships am 16. August auf dem Glasgow Green ringen Dudelsackspieler aus aller Welt um den Titel des Weltmeisters. Dass Dudelsack spielen keine rein schottische Angelegenheit ist, beweist die Teilnehmerliste: 16 verschiedene Nationen sind vertreten, selbst Pakistan schickt Musiker, insgesamt treten 200 Gruppen auf und die Zuhörer dürfen sich auf Musik von insgesamt 8.000 Dudelsäcken und Trommeln freuen. Mit Ticketpreisen von 12 bis 30 Euro ist man dabei, wenn zum Marsch geblasen wird.
