Wine from the Highlands

Category: Scotland

If you have ever thought of Scotland as a travel destination exclusively for whisky enthusiasts, now could be the time to consider something new and very special. Moniack Castle Winery, around 11 miles southwest of Inverness, proudly presents a range of nine country wines and liqueurs. The Silver Birch Wine for instance was Prince Albert's favourite drink during his stays at Balmoral, as Queen Victoria mentioned in her diaries. An amusing video presentation and a 20-minute guided tour add to the enjoyment of a visit to this 16th century castle. Open daily during the summer from 11am until 5pm, closed on Sundays during the winter but otherwise open from 11am until 4pm.
