Sloans Market Glasgow

Category: Scotland

Thousands of shoppers flock to new city centre market

Scotland's new Sunday market place has been hailed an "astounding success" by stallholders, shoppers and organisers on its first day of trade. Shoppers at Sloans Market, in the heart of Glasgow's city centre were delighted by the variety of goods on sale, from handmade jewellery to quality leather goods, delicious food and bespoke fashion items. Popular radio DJ Heather Suttie was there to lend an eco-friendly hand to shoppers by selling her bags, made from jute, as an alternative to plastic bags. "I've chatted with all the stallholders and had a good rummage round. I'm chuffed to bits, I picked up some great stuff. This really is the place to be on a Sunday". Organisers of the event, Scotland's fastest growing marketing firm DADA, are confident that the year-round Sunday market will significantly increase footfall to Glasgow's busiest shopping area. www.sloansmarket.co.uk
