City hotel reopens

 

One of the most stylish stop-offs on Scotland's social circuit has reopened. St Jude's Hotel, in Bath Street Glasgow, has undergone a £1m refit after lying empty for six months and will now offer refurbished bars, specialist restaurants, bedrooms and a penthouse suite. The most striking change from the previous St Jude's format is the basement Oriental tapas-style restaurant called Mamasan. Bought by Glasgow-based style bar owner Brad Stevens in August, the entrepreneur is hoping to attract the clientele and reputation which once made St Jude's one of the nation's most famous haunts in the early part of the decade. Mr Stevens, who also owns Bar Soba in Glasgow, said: "The hotel will look better than it did in the first days of St Jude's. It will have a young vibe but older people won't feel out of place because of its high quality. If you liked it before you'll love it now?
